Strategic Mobility 21 Products
Strategic Mobilty 21 products are continually evolving and after full development are made available for our military and commerical stakeholder use.  Two analytical tools that are currently available are decribed on this page.  For information on how these products are being integrated into a collaborative planning tool, please proceed to the Collaborative Regional Planning Portal page for additional information.

The Southern California Agile Supply Network Model

The Southern California Agile Supply Network (SCASN) simulation modeling system, based on Arena modeling software, was developed to support regional initiatives within Southern California; however, SCASN was intentionally designed to be flexible and generic such that it can be applied to any region or agile networking scenario.  The overall SCASN model architecture offers numerous benefits for this project and beyond. Please proceed to the SCASN simulation overview for additional information on how SM21 and our analysts can support your region or distribution network scenario.

In addition to the SCASN time-domain simulation, a mathematical optimization model was developed to determine: the most effective ways in which the existing transportation network can be used for goods movement; analysis of benefits associated with potential changes in the network; identification of the best possible ways to absorb excpetional use of the transportation network; and analysis of the effectiveness of potential changes to the network that are designed to absorb growth.  The Southern California Agile Supply Network (SCASN) Model was developed to initially support analysis in Southern California in support of the Strategic Mobility 21 Program. The SCASN mathematical model complements, the Arena based time domain business process modeling version of SCASN. The SCASN mathematical model and the Arena based SCASN model will be useable and reconfigurable through the SM21 Collaborative Regional Civilian and Military Transportation Planning Portal currently under development.  Please review the SCASN mathematical model briefing for additional model information.

Multi-Modal Terminal Model - MMTM

The Strategic Mobility 21 Multi-Modal Terminal Model was created using Arena Basic version 10.00 from Rockwell Software, Inc. and extended using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). The MMTM was developed to model any multi-modal transfer facility that has the need to achieve rapid and responsive commercial and military deployment support. Read more about the MMTM and how it can support your analytical requirements.
